Jane Carpenter

Jane Ann Carpenter, aged 77,went home to her savior Monday morning, Jan 2. Surrounded by her family.  Jane Ann was born to Norah & Frank Smith July 30, 1934.  She graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1953 and married Karl Carpenter with whom she loved and raised 6 children.  Jane was devoted to her Lord, her pastor husband of 50 years and her family. She made a home in Grand Ledge, a farm in Charlotte, then Pontiac, Dimondale, Mio, Munising and Riverdale where she served with Karl in ministry for Jesus.  Then as Karl's health declined,  they moved  back to Mio to retire.  Jane has been involved in chilren's and women's ministries over the years and has been actively involved at Mio Baptist Church.  she has been working with the foster grandparent program at Fairview school.
Like a heart out of rhythmn, she will be missed by her children, but only for a season until they will be reunited in their home above.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Robinson (Craig), Milinda, Steve,
Lonnie, Scott  (Julie), Faith Bowen (Dean), 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren,  and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Karl, her parents and her 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Jane's family and friends will celebrate her home going on Thursday, January 5th, at Mio Baptist Church at 11 am with viewing preceding at 10am. Visitation and a time of remembrance will be held on  Wednesday evening from 3pm to 9pm at Lashley Funereal Home in Mio.
