Mr. James P. Sposato, age 74, of Mio, passed away peacefully at his home following his long illness on Wednesday July 23, 2008.
Visitation Sunday, July 27,, 2008 from 5-8 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Ml, and again from 10 A.M. until Funeral Services at 11 A.M. on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Mio Church of God with Pastor Mike Stadelmayer officiating. Interment will follow at Kittle Cemetery.
Mr. Sposato was born on June 6, 1934 to John and Mildred (Tavolacci) Sposato in Royal Oak, Ml and raised in Detroit, Ml. He married Shirley A Jenks on March 16, 1957 in Waterford, Ml. They moved to Mio in June, 1973. James owned and operated AuSable Aluminum Products until his retirement in 1998. He was a Third Degree Member of the Mio Knights of Columbus. James also was a volunteer driver for D.H.S. and Hope Network of Grand Rapids; he transported patients to and from hospitals and doctor's appointments. He was awarded the Governor's Award for this volunteer service. James enjoyed sports card collecting, hunting, fishing, golf, softball and working on his computer.
Mr. Sposato is survived by his wife Shirley; his children: John P. (Sherri) Sposato of Burton, Ml, Patrick J. (Sandy) Sposato of Luzerne, Jami (Steven) Bock of Bellaire, Ml and James P. (Lynnette) Sposato II of Luzerne; his 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Nicholas (Lacey), Ora Leigh-Ann, Lacy, Jordan, Cody and Jaren; his sisters Natalie (Jack) Davidson and Kathy (Matt) Moultrup; his two great-grandchildren Logan and Wyatt and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thank you is extended to Heartland Hospice for their excellent care given to James over the last 11 months.
