James Mcmahan

Mr. James Edward McMahan, age 74, of Luzerne, passed away Saturday, July 7th, 2012 at his residence.
Jim was born in Birmingham, Michigan on February 23, 1938, the son of the late Hobart and Nola (Johnson) McMahan. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim had worked as a millwright for Ford Motor Company, Sterling Plant. He retired in 1999 and settled in Luzerne, where he married Dorothy M. (Kern) McMahan on November 7, 1981. Jim was a charter member and past Governor of The Mio Moose Lodge #1035; a member of The Luzerne American Legion Post # 162; a 32nd Degree member of The Masonic Lodge and was also a Shriner. He enjoyed salmon and walleye fishing, hunting and was an avid LOTTO player.
Surviving are his wife: Dorothy McMahan; children: Christine Matthews of Warren, MI; Carl (Barb) Lipson of Rochester Hills, MI; Charlene (Bill) Mathis of Lupton, MI; Carol (George) Kerschenheiter of Mio, MI; Craig (Carol) Lipson of Clawson, MI; Cary Lipson of Warren, MI and Cathy Lipson of Warren, MI, 1 sister Betty Witt of Madison Heights, MI, 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Connie Lipson and sisters: Kathryn, Maxine, Eleanor, Mary, Mabel, Annabelle and his twin sister Joy.
Visitation Monday, July 9, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio followed by Graveside Services - Military Honors at Luzerne Cemetery at 12:30 PM offered by the Luzerne American Legion Post # 162.
