James (Jim) Ehrle, born in Belfield, North Dakota on 8-24-1930, quietly passed away on the morning of 2-19-2026. Jim was a loving, caring, very humorous and witty husband, father and friend.

Jim was drafted into the army on his 18th birthday during the Korean Conflict, yet never deployed overseas. He was kept stateside with kidney stones when his platoon shipped out. He was reassigned to an Alabama National Guard outfit, and was eventually sent to Detroit, Michigan. Detroit is where Jim met Arline, fell in love, then married after being discharged.

Jim and Arline settled in Allen Park, Michigan to raise their two boys. They remained in Allen Park, and began building in Comins for their dream retirement home. Both retired in 1994 and immediately resettled in Comins, Michigan.

Jim enjoyed family vacations, traveling back to North Dakota to visit his parents, and traveling across the western states sightseeing. He also enjoyed weekend outings, camping, hunting, and the shooting sports.

I cannot stress enough the wonderful upbringing that my brother, Keith, and I enjoyed growing up. Dad was the most selfless person to know and was always available for family. He loved to share his exploits from his childhood, as well as his hunting stories from the Badlands of North Dakota.

Jim was preceded in death by wife, Arline, in 2016, and oldest son, Keith, in 2025. He is survived by his son, Kent, daughter-in-law, Tammy, grandson Kraig, granddaughter Kristen and her husband Justin, and their daughters, Rachel and Hanah, his twin brother, John (Jack) and brother, Duane.

Thank you for the life you provided for us, Dad. I love you and miss you.
