James M. Burwell

Burwell, James M (61) died Thursday, January 11, 2007, at his home in Mio, Michigan after a difficult 5 month battle with cancer. By his side caring for him was his loving Mother, Doris Grimmett and his brother Earl. The care and compassion of the wonderful staff members of Hospice of Helping Hands helped ease Jim's final days.
Jim retired from General Motors in Pontiac in 1998. He enjoyed his membership in the local Eagles Club, fishing with friends, tending his lawn, playing with his cat, Kitty, and an occasional game of chance at a nearby casino.
Surviving Jim, in addition to his Mother, are 5 children: Michael, Nancy, Amy, Denise and Jodi; their 16 children and wonderful families; 3 brothers, Dennis, Earl and David; 2 sisters, Mary and Ann and their families. Jim's warm personality endeared him to many close friends over the years, and he was grateful for their companionship.
Jim requested cremation; a simple memorial service by his family will be held. Anyone interested in making a memorial contribution, please consider Hospice of Helping Hands, Inc of West Branch, Michigan.
