Jakob P. (Jack) Schild

Mr. Jakob P. (Jack) Schild, age 86, of Red Oak, passed away Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at The V.A. Medical Center, City of Detroit.
Visitation Tuesday 1-4 and 7-9 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home. Funeral Services at The funeral home at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21st, with Father Raymond Cotter officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio with Military Honors offered by members of The Mio V.F.W. Post 4126, Mio American Legion Post # 348 and Ogemaw Hills D.A.V. Post 73.
Jack was born on December 20, 1921 to the late Jakob and Marie (Sawitzke) Schilds. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, He had worked as a Pipeline Inspector at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company and for Hoskins Industries. He was a member of The Mio V.F.W. Post 4126, Mio American Legion Post # 348 and post commander of The Ogemaw Hills D.A.V. Post 73. He had served on the committees of several Veteran organizations, assisting his brother veterans.
Jack is survived by a son, Michael J. (Tedde) Schild of Clarkston; 2 Grandchildren: Shannon (Dave) Munoz, and Michael Schild. 1 great granddaughter Eliana Munoz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Helen K. Schild.
