Mrs. Iva Fern Deyarmond, age 100, of Mio, passed away Wednesday, February 14th, 2007 at Bay Regional Medical Center.
Visitation Monday 3-7 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral Services at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20th, at the funeral home with Reverend Marcel A. Lamb officiating. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
Iva was born on April 17, 1906 in Red Oak, the youngest of five children born to Will & Susie (Brown) Hunt. She moved to Bay City in 1951 and returned to Mio after retiring from Samaritan Hospital in 1964.
She was a member of Mio United Methodist Church.
At the age of 61, following the death of her daughter, Donna Bates, Iva took in and raised her 5 children: James Bates, Naida Gonzalez, Lorelei Bates, Crystal Humes, Candy Bohlinger and Donna Lantz. She instilled in them, her values of hard work and family love.
Surviving are her Daughter: Naida Osborne of Mexico; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 26 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands: Henry Deyarmond, Clarence Watson and Howard Deyarmond. 3 children: Darrel Deyarmond, Norman Deyarmond and Donna Bates. 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Iva will be remembered as a very hardworking and strong-willed lady, always ready to speak her mind.
