Mrs. Irene M. Melton, 92, of Fairview died Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community, Fairview, Michigan. The family has planned a private viewing and service with Pastor Paul Heaton officiating. Interment at Kittle Cemetery Mio, Michigan.
Irene was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 27, 1915 to the late Otto and Mary (Salmon) Mueller. She moved to Pittsburgh, PA and settled in Detroit where she graduated from Cooley High School. She married Glenn A. Melton on October 20, 1934 in Northville, MI. and moved to Mio in 1966 from Livonia. Irene enjoyed knitting and had worked at The Oscoda County Sheriff and County Clerks offices.
She is survived by her daughters: Joan Leaf of Mio, MI.
Sherry (Rod) Marsh of Mio, MI.; son: Don (Pat) Melton of Boulder, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn A. Melton, great grandsons Taylor Marsh and Joshua Harrington, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
