Irene Anna Baril

Irene A. Baril, age 99 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Irene was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 18, 1924 to Joseph and Anna (Konath) Gracey. She married Irving Baril on April 11, 1942 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Detroit. The couple lived in Detroit and retired to Florida. When Irving passed away in 1998, Irene settled in Mio. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, the Red Hat Society, the Mio Moose Lodge, and Oscoda County Right to Life.

Irene is survived by her children: Steven Baril of New Boston, MI; Anne (Paul) VanHulle of Sanford, MI; and Jan (Chad) Margita of Mio, MI; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren,12 great great grandchildren and her niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Irving in 1998, grandson Robert VanHulle and her brothers: Edward, George, Frank, Pete and Bill.

Visitation on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with a Prayer Vigil service and Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI with Rev. Santiago Hoyumpa as Celebrant. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the Mass. Interment of ashes will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
