Ingeborg Berta Mazza, age 92, of Grayling, MI, formerly of Mio, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Grayling Nursing & Rehabilitation Community.
Ingeborg was born in Mannheim, Germany on February 1, 1926, a daughter of the late Barbara (Kersher) and Friedrich Geisinger. She moved to the United States in 1949. She Married Anthony A. "Tony" Mazza on July 7, 1956 in White Lake, MI. Inge had worked as a bridal seamstress for Hudson's in Northville, MI. The Couple retired to Mio in 1986 from Clinton Twp, MI. Inge earned an Art Degree from Kirtland Community College, where she taught quilting. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, painting, drawing and china painting.
She is survived by her children: Laura (Michael) Teichow of Mio, MI; and John (Leslie) Mazza of Shelby Twp., MI; her grandchildren: Bret Rizzo, Kristen Lawrence, Jeffrey McMahon, Alex McMahon, Anthony Mazza, Joseph, Ava and Marco Mazza; and her great-grandchildren: Jacob, Seth, Alexander, Nathan and Abbie Rizzo; and Nolan and Jonah Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Anthony.
Visitation Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM with Reverend Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the mass. Interment of Ashes will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery Holly. Memorials may be made to: Or Lady of the Woods Shrine Restoration Fund, PO Box 189, Mio, MI 48647
