Hildred M. Thornburgh

Hildred Marie Thornburgh, age 101, of Mio, MI, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Home at AuSable Valley Community.
Visitation Tuesday, July 28, 2009 from 10:00 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, with Pastor David Jorgensen of the Mio Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Interment at Luzerne Cemetery.
Hildred was born on December 7, 1907 in Buchanan MI (7 miles from the Indiana border) to Herbert and Olive (Green) Hanover. Upon graduating from high school, she took her first job as a private secretary for Clark Equipment Company. She married her first husband Jack Goodlett when she was 19. Hildred traveled from coast to coast in her lifetime: she had driverâ??s licenses in California, Nevada, Alabama, Indiana, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and finally Michigan, which expired when she was 95 years old. She cared for her mother after her father passed away until her mother went home to be with the Lord at 100 years of age. Hildredâ??s second husband Kurt Thornburgh passed away in 1967. She joined the Mio 7th Day Adventist Church in March of 1971 and was still a member.
Hildred is survived by her church family and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Jack Goodlett; and her second husband Kurt Thornburgh.
