Herbert W. Yoder

Mr. Herbert W. Yoder, 91, of Fairview died Thursday, April 9th, 2009 while in the company of family members at his residence.
Visitation Friday April 10, 2009 from 4-9 PM at The Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Religious Service at The Comins Mennonite Church, Comins, Michigan, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 11th, with Pastor Kevin Salsbury and Pastor Virgil Hershberger officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery Fairview, Michigan.
Mr. Yoder was born in Topeka, IN on April 30, 1917 to Oscar and Cora L. (Reidenbach) Yoder. He moved to Fairview in 1920 where he spent his life farming. In September 14, 1941 he married his wife Eloise W. Yoder at The Comins Mennonite Church. Hub was always a farmer but he also spent much of his time doing woodworking and carpentry. His Children still cherish those toys he built for them as kids. He gave several years of labor to raising mink and working with the 4H Rabbit Club. Hub had a love for gardening especially flowers which he frequently gave to family and friends. Hunting was also a favorite past time.
Mr. Yoder was a member of The Comins Mennonite Church and was involved in The Relief Sale donating both his time and wood working talents.
Hub is survived by his children: Larry (Jackie) Yoder of McGregor, Texas, Leroy ""Twig"" (Sally) Yoder of Curran, MI., Pat (Chuck) Bontrager of Bristol, IN., Jerry (Sharon) Yoder of Fairview, MI., Linda (Frank) Holberton of Comins, MI., Marcia (Jim) Weldy and Don Yoder both of Goshen, IN.; Sister Eva ""Polly"" Brazier of Petoskey, MI., Sister-in-law Lois Perry of Merrill, MI.; 14 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter.
He is preceded by his parents; wife Eloise; 3 Sisters: Ruth Handrich, Ruby Handrich, Margaret Kasper.
