Helen L. Wojciechowski

February 9, 1928 — July 10, 2017

Helen L. Wojciechowski, age 89 of Lewiston, Michigan, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, MI on Monday, July 10, 2017.
Helen was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 9, 1928 to Mele and Nellie (Webber) Koneya, Sr. She moved to Detroit, MI at the age of 16, and graduated from Cass Tech. Helen married Zigmund Wojciechowski on January 26, 1950 in Detroit. She worked as a waitress in her father’s restaurant. After raising her children she also worked for the Detroit Public School System in the cafeteria for some time. She and Zigmund retired to Lewiston in 2000. Helen was an active member of the AuSable Bible Church and also was a member of the Yarn Angels of Oscoda County. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, baking, and cooking homemade meals.
Helen is survived by her children: Linda (Bill) Rundel of Lewiston, MI; Madeline (Wendell) Anderson of Lexington, OH; Wayne (Donna) Wojciechowski of Sterling Heights, MI; Barry (Rocio) Wojciechowski of Livonia, MI; and Julie (Ken) Bannister of East Falmouth, MA; 4 grandchildren: Paul, Miriam, Anthony, and Vivian; 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and 2 expected great-great grandchild. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Zigmund; 1 sister, and 1 brother.
Visitation on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 10 – 11:00 AM at the AuSable Bible Church, 1408 N. Mt Tom Rd., Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wendell Anderson officiating.
. Interment will follow at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan. In Lieu of flowers, donation may be directed to the wishes and needs of the family
