Helen V. Swartzendruber

Helen V. Swartzendruber, age 92 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at her home in Fairview on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
Helen was born in Wellman, Iowa on March 12, 1922 to Samuel and Lena Wertz. She married Lloyd Swartzendruber on February 11, 1942 in Wellman, Iowa. She was a faithful member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, who will be remembered for her love for God, her family and friends; her encouragement to many through her prayers, notes and calls; her enjoyment of cooking; and her example in serving others.
Helen is survived by her children: Jane (Eli) Mast, Lloyd, Jr. (Laura) Swartzendruber, and Beth (Warren) Miller ; her grandchildren: Michael (Jackie) Mast, Nathan (Becca) Swartzendruber, Angela (Mark) Guinn, Rachel Cox, Britany Miller, and Courtney Miller; and her great-grandchildren: Alexa and Avery Mast, Elias and August Swartzendruber, Cedar and Archer Guinn, and Amdon and Avery Cox. She is also survived by her sisters: Verna Wertz Diltz and Eudora (Henry) Mullett; and her brothers: John (Marilyn) Christner and Leo (Phyllis) Christner. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lloyd Swartzendruber on November 22, 1998; her brothers: Lynn (Melva) Wertz, Simon Wertz, and Cecil Christner; her brother-in-law Bill Diltz; and her sister-in-law Nellie Christner.
Visitation on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home; and again on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 11 AM at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan with Pastor David Price officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
