Helen B. Diller

Helen Beryl Diller (Schrock) was born April 9, 1928 in Comins Michigan to Ellis and Pearl Schrock (Kennedy).  Helen went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 9, 2014.  Helen grew up on the family farm in Fairview.  She graduated from Fairview School.  Helen worked at the Fairview Creamery where she met Ken Diller, her future husband.  They were married on October 27, 1946 at the Comins church.  They made their home in Fairview where they raised their two sons Donald and Larry.  Helen worked at Reed Ranch for many years and also babysat for many local children over the years.  She was very active in ladies church groups and enjoyed sewing, baking, and gardening.  She repaired sewing machines and had quite a collection of antique machines at one time.  When the boys were young the family had many memories of camping trips and also memorable trips to Ohio and Florida to spend time with family and friends.  Helen spent her last years at AuSable Valley Home where she made many friends and extended family as everyone knew and loved her as "Grandma Helen".
She is survived by one sister Winona (Dale) Shetler of Pigeon,MI, one sister-in-law, Helen (John) Miller of Florida.  Her sons Donald (Pat) Diller of Alpha, MI, Larry (Darlene) Diller of Fairview, MI. Her grandchildren, James Diller of Chicago, IL, Anthony Diller of Alfa, MI, Corey Holberton of Harrisville, MI, Kerry (Chad) Yost of Mio, MI, and Eric (Stephanie) Diller of Galesburg, MI.  She has 7 greatgrandchildren, Jared, Myera, Abigail, Alison, Courtney, Faith, and Grant.  A very special niece Sherry of Alpena, MI and many more nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth in June of 1996, her parents, and her sister Patricia.
Visitation Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio and on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at The Comins Mennonite Church, with Pastor Kevin Salsbury officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Advantage Hospice of West Branch, MI, or the Comins Mennonite Church of Comins, MI.
