Helen K. Anderson

Helen K. Anderson, age 97, of Traverse City and Grayling, formerly of Mio, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Mercy Manor in Grayling, MI. Private interment took place on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 11 AM at the Mentot Township Cemetery, Mio in the presence of her family.
Helen was born on November 23, 1911 in Detroit, MI to Stanley and Mary (Kijorski) Korycinski. She owned and operated Anderson Party Store in Mio. Helen enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and playing the organ. She was a very energetic and hardworking person. She had attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio for many years, and later in life, attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Traverse City.
Helen is survived by her sisters: Laura Bojanowski and Julie Krug; her brother Stanley Kory; her granddaughter Gloria ""Sugar"" (Neil) Feck; 4 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin Anderson; her son Alvin""Bunny"" Anderson; her grandson Alvin William Anderson; her sisters: Josie, Mary, Hedda, and Stella; and her brother Edward.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness-East Congregation, 1950 Chase Rd., Traverse City, Michigan. 49684.
