Mr. Harry Joseph Wiedbrauk, age 90 of Curran, Michigan, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Grayling on Saturday, June 1, 2013, surrounded by his family and loved ones.Harry was born at home in Curran, Michigan on February 5, 1923 to Philo and Etta Wiedbrauk. He served his country in the US Army between 1942-1945. In his service record, he travelled to many foreign countries and had many fine tales to tell about them. But, he enjoyed being on his farm best. Harry grew up on the family farm with 5 siblings: Hazel, Myron, Marilyn, Curtis, and brother Purvis who preceded him in death. Harry was a self-employed logger and farmer. He was also a volunteer firefighter for many years. He met and married Lila McClaren in 1950. Together they had 5 children: John (Joyce), David (Sue), Suzie (Dan Esch), Fred (Tina), and Joseph who preceded him in death. He also had 2 step-children: Mary and Roy. Harry was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 18+ great grandchildren. Harry led a very full and active life. He enjoyed helping out at BINGO every week and seeing his veteran buddies every month. He was a great gardener, but his lifeâ??s passion was taking care of his cows. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife (Lila) in 1986; one brother; 2 sons (John and Joseph); and 2 step-children. Harry loved to tell everyone he met to ""Keep Smiling!""Visitation on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan, and also on Wednesday. June 5, 2013, from 1PM until Funeral Services at 2PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, with Pastor John Mannning officiating. Interment at Mitchell Twp. Cemetery, Curran, MI with military honors offered by the VFW # 8135 of Barton City, MI.Memorial donations may be made to the Veteranâ??s charity of the donorâ??s choice.Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI.
