Harry L. Handrich, age 88 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Harry was born in Fairview, Michigan on December 21, 1931 to Oliver and Ada (Shantz) Handrich. He worked in the lumber industry for many years. Harry was a member of the State of Michigan 4H Council for 55 years. He also was a driver for the Fairview Schools Equestrian Team, earning the title "Fairview Schools Transportation Specialist". Harry was also a guide for state trail rides, including the "Shore to Shore" State Horse ride. Along with riding horses, he also enjoyed leather crafting.
Harry is survived by his wife Sandy; his children: Rocklyn (Ann) Handrich, Roxanne (John) Edwards, Rosealin (Dennis) Bontrager, Rollin (Debra) Handrich, Robbie Handrich, Ronda (Brad) Gusler, Rochelle (Mark Willobee) Kalbfleisch, Michelle Handrich, and Mindy (Eric) Anderson; his step-children: Rusty & Kathy Gehringer, David & Angie Gehringer, and Dale & Jenna Gehringer; his sister Olive Gerber; 45 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Oliver and Ada (Shantz) Handrich; his brothers: Richard and Don; his sisters: Luella, Jean, and Lola Faye; and his sons-in-law: Linford Troyer, Mark Baker, and Pat Kalbfleisch.
Visitation on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 1 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan. Harry will also lie in state at the TriPoint Church of God, Mio, Michigan on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 12 Noon until Funeral Services at 2 PM with Pastors Chris Bones and Bill Jones officiating. Interment to follow the services at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
