Grace E. Handrich

Grace E. Handrich, age 83 of Fairview, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Grace was born in Fairview, Michigan on November 12, 1934 to George and Elizabeth (Gascho) Layman. She married Dwight Handrich on June 10, 1956 in Fairview. The couple worked together in their construction company, where Grace was secretary. She was an active member of the Fairview Mennonite Church and was an avid reader. She was a grandmother to multiple generations and a caregiver to many.

Grace is survived by her sons: Monte (Monica) Handrich of Goshen, IN; Wade Handrich (Bryan Brown) of Holt, MI; and Merritt Handrich of Warsaw, IN; her sisters: Kathy Layman and Sherrill Swartz; her brother Devere Layman; her grandchildren: Sandy, Tyler, and Amber Handrich, and Carrie Wandemberg; and her great-grandchildren: Tyrone, Summer, Kyle, Grayson, Emaline, Tristen, Cheyenne, and Domminic. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dwight, her granddaughters: Kaylee, Candace, and Kristy; and her brother Leland Layman.

Visitation on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5 – 9 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and also on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 10 AM until Funeral Services at 11 AM at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan, with Pastor David Price officiating. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.
