Gordon E. Moore

Gordon E. Moore, age 82 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan on Friday, August 28, 2020.

Gordon was born in Mio, Michigan on April 27, 1935 to Percy and Nellie (Mathews) Moore. He served his country in the US Air Force for 22 years, working as a jet mechanic and retiring in 1978. He married Frances on June 15, 1957 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Following Gordon's military retirement, the couple settled back in Mio, Michigan, where Gordon worked at Kneeland Industries for close to 20 years. Gordon was a member of the Mio Dummy Club and the Luzerne American Legion Post. He enjoyed woodworking, Irish Music, and socializing with his friends, "Kickin’ tires & Lightin’ fires".

Gordon is survived by his wife Frances of Mio, MI; his children: Mikel Moore of Fairview, MI; and Kathy (Kirk) Neff of Mio, MI; his grandchildren: Chuck Moore, Mindy Moore, Gordy Moore, and Erin Neff; and his great-grandchildren: Ekaterina Phillips and Briar Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Jerry O’Conner, Betty Banazk, and Carol Galbraith.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held September 19, 2020 at the Clinton Township Hall, 4245 N. Abbe Rd., Comins, MI from 12:30 PM until 3:00 PM.
