Mr. Gerald Victor St. James, better known as (Saint and also Son), 79, of Comins died Friday, June 26th, 2009 at Alpena, Michigan. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday July 2, 2009 with Father Boks officiating at The St. James Catholic Church 202 East Sherman Road, Whittemore, Michigan.
Gerald was born in Whittemore, Michigan on May 29, 1930. He served in the U.S. Army, 1951-1953 and later retired from General Motors, where he had worked for G.M. Truck & Bus, Local 594, in Pontiac for 35 years. Gerald loved life and was always there to lend a helping hand.
He was the husband of Gladys M. (Grubbs) St. James. Gerald is survived by his wife; two daughters: Susan (Rex) Hamil of Waterford, MI. and Karen (Greg) Fredericksen of Greenville, WI. He is also survived by two sisters: Betty (Bill) Bamberger of Turner, MI., Jane Haske of Beaverton, MI.; and two Granddaughters: Elyse and Lauren Fredericksen of Wisconsin.
Gerald was a member of The Comins Eagles Aeries # 3544, The Lewiston Moose Lodge # 2495 and the American Legion Post # 143. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Comings Eagles Aeries # 3544 P.O. Box 211, Comins, Michigan 48619 or to the charity of the donors choice.
