George Weighman Jr.

George Thomas Weighman, Jr. age 80 of Luzerne, MI, passed away, unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at his home.
George was born on April 15, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan to George T. and Beatrice (Braman) Weighman, Sr.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War in the Tank Corps as a Tank Commander.  He married Emma Jane (Hill) Weighman on February 1, 1954 in Indiana. They moved to Rose City, MI in 1970; and settled in the Mio/Luzerne area where George worked as a self-employed Tool Grinder.  He was a member of the Mio Baptist Church, and a member of the Mio VFW Post # 4126.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving, watching birds, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife Jane Weighman of Mio; his daughter Beverly (Steve) McIntyre of Luzerne, MI; his sister Dorothy (Morris) Owen of Saginaw, MI; his 3 grandchildren:  Jay Lynn, Cory, and Stacy; and his 8 great-grandchildren:  Dante, Chase, Dominic, Jordan, Bobbie, Chris, Shy, and Kaylee.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Thomas Allen Weighman; his brothers:  Frank Weighman and Wallace ""Bud"" Weighman; and his sisters:  Marie Gwen and Beatrice Blasch.
Visitation on Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 1-3 PM at the Mio Baptist Church with Funeral Services at 3 PM with Rev. Glynn McMorris officiating.  Military Honors offered by the Mio VFW Post # 4126. In accordance with Georgeâ??s wishes, cremation will follow the Funeral Service.
