George “Rusty” Ebling III

July 17, 1944 – May 26, 2021

George Ebling III of Luzerne MI, formerly of Dearborn, has passed after multiple sclerosis slowly took from him all that he cherished in life. He was preceded in death by his dear wife Stephanie Ebling and his father George Ebling Jr.  He is survived by his son George Ebling IV of Mio, his mother Virginia Ebling of Dearborn, his brother Chris of Plano TX, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

Rusty graduated from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn. He served his country honorably as an infantryman with the First Air Calvary during the Vietnam War. After discharge he earned a BA from Eastern Michigan University and had a long and successful career in the tool and die industry where he had the opportunity to travel the world. Upon retirement, Rusty and Stephanie moved to their beloved cabin in the north woods, surrounded by the natural world they so loved.

Rusty was many things to many people.  He was a devoted son, a supportive brother, a faithful husband, a good father, a dedicated employee, and a loyal friend. He will be remembered for his deep concern for the environment, his generous hospitality to friends and family, and his wry sense of humor.

Memorials may be made in his memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Arrangements were handled by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI.
