Mrs. Genevieve Wanda Merrick, 92, of Fairview died Monday, November 19th, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Grayling, Michigan. Visitation is Wednesday 9-10 AM. November 21, 2007 at The Lashley Funeral Home , Mio, MI, with service following. Religious Service begins at 10:00 AM with Pastor Ron Carter officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery Fairview, Michigan.
Genevieve was born on August 25, 1915 to the late Vincent and Pauline (Bryzinski) Rakowski and raised in Dearborn, MI. She was the widow of John A. Merrick whom she married in Dearborn in 1937. She later moved to Comins in 1946, enjoyed dancing and was the owner/operator for many years of Genevieve's Flower Shop.
Genevieve is survived by her sons: Jerry (Ruth) Merrick of Lincoln, MI; Gordon (Linda) Merrick of Pontiac, MI; daughter Marcy (George) Conner of Comins, MI; and brother Marcel Rakowski of Killeen, Texas. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and infant daughter Janine Merrick
