Gaye Maurer

Gaye Louise Maurer (59) was called to be with her lord on July 23rd 2008 following a long courageous battle with illness. Gaye loved the lord and now she has been able to look upon him. Gaye had a heart that loved everyone she met, and everyone loved her in return. There are no words that can describe how much she will be missed.

Gaye was born in West Branch on September 30, 1948 to Wilbert and Velma Emig (Harder) and she spent her entire childhood growing up in the Comins area. She loved this area, and after many years living all over the world she looked forward to nothing more than coming back home in 2003 to retire.

Gaye married Terry Maurer in Comins on February 14th 1969 and during their 39 years together they had three children, Sonda Maurer of Comins Eric (Sarah) Maurer of Comins and Aaron Maurer of Fort Walton Beach Florida. Nobody will know how much of an honor it has been to have been married to such a wonderful, caring person for so long.

Gaye is survived by her parents, three brothers Don (Valdalia MI) Stuart (Comins MI), and Marshall (Romulus MI). She also has one sister, Ramona Lee of Saginaw along with several nieces and nephews. Also the joy of her life, and only grandchild Lief Maurer.

Gaye was laid to rest in Comins cemetery on July 25th 2008.
