Gail C. Cotter

Gail C. Cotter, age 81 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Service in Fairview, Michigan on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

Gail was born in Northville, Michigan on May 19, 1940 to LJ and Clara Ann (Schwartz) Putnam. She married Thomas W. Cotter on February 14, 1959. Gail was a member of the Mio New Hope Assembly of God Church. She served as Church secretary for many years, and was also on the Church Board. Gail loved being with her family and taking care of them.

Gail is survived by her children: Thomas P. Cotter of Mio, MI; Daniel (Janet) Cotter of Mio, MI; Donald (Dawn) Cotter of Canton, MI; Elizabeth (Gareth) Oaks of Fairview, MI; and Shane (Nicole)Cotter of New Castle, PA; her grandchildren: Andrea (James) Reed, Michael Cotter, Brian Keller, Amy (David) Craft, LJ (Monika) Cotter, Sara (Mike) Helton, Amanda Cotter, Hannah (Brody) Everts, Hailey Cotter, Brittanie Carey, Kat (Mike) Sarowski, Noah Oaks, Gideon Oaks, Chase Oaks, Micah Oaks, Elijah Oaks, Joy Oaks, Kaylee Cotter, Joel Cotter, Levi Cotter, and Luke Cotter; 13 great-grandchildren; and her sibling Hadley Putnam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas W. Cotter, and her siblings: Lenore Schram, Patricia Porrit, and Jane Sebastian.

Visitation on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1 PM – 4 PM at the Mio New Hope Assembly of God Church, Mio, MI, with Funeral Services at 4 PM with Pastor Tony Van Duser officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the service. Interment of ashes at a later date at Kittle Cemetery, Mio, Michigan.
