Frederick L. Johnson

Frederick L. Johnson, age 85 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital in Grayling, Michigan on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Frederick was born in Ohio on January 17, 1936 to Thomas L. and Sara A. (Bassett) Johnson. He married Marjorie (Pierce) Johnson on June 21, 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan. Frederick worked as a groundskeeper for the City of Pontiac before moving to Mio, from Lapeer, MI in 1972. Frederick later worked as a groundskeeper for Garland Resort in Lewiston. He had enjoyed The Bump & Run car races, learning new things through YouTube, “debating” with his family and friends, and stumping people with trivia questions. He especially enjoyed life with his wife and family.

Surviving are his children: Robert (Tina) Johnson of Mio, MI; Susan (Keith) Goodrich of Flat Rock, MI; Patricia (Don) Carsey of Atlanta, MI; Michelle (Kevin) Goodrich of Horton, MI; and Sarah (Eric) Garrett of Mio, MI; his sisters: Mary Allen, Helen Lomerson, and Leni Rodd; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie, and 2 brothers: William and Thomas.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the Commission on Aging.
