Frank Montani

Mr. Francisco ""Frank"" Montani, age 71, of Mio, MI, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Bay Special Care Hospital in Bay City, MI.
Frank was born on October 19, 1939 in West Branch, Michigan to Peter and Rose (Nociar) Montani.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio and, along with his father and brother, was instrumental in the construction of Our Lady of the Woods Shrine.  Frank was also a 3rd Degree member of the Mio Knights of Columbus Council #7329.
Surviving are his brother Santo (Janet) Montani of Mio, MI; his sisters: Joan Wood of Detroit, MI; Linda (Tom) Thatcher of Gaylord, MI; and Elizabeth (John) Gray of Gaylord, MI, and several nieces and nephews in Michigan, Illinois and Arizona also many cousins in Michigan and Pennsylvania.  Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mike Montani.
Visitation Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 3-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI with a Vigil Prayer Service offered by St. Mary Parish at 7 PM, followed by a Rosary offered by the Mio Knights of Columbus Council # 7329. Frank will lie in state on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Raymond Cotter as celebrant.  Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio.
