Floyd W. Esch, age 98, arrived at his eternal home Friday, August 20, 2010.  He was born September 21, 1911 to Menno and Genette (yoder) Esch onthe family farm near Smith Lake in Oscoda County.  He married Donna Belle Handrich on December 25, 1941.  They lived on their farm on Yordy Road for many years and also opened their home to many adult foster care residents.  They were married for 67 years until Donna's passing on January 27, 2009.
Floyd is survived by his son Terry (Jodie) Esch of Cobble Hill, Vancouver Island, B.C: and his daughter Rose Mary (Truman) Ross of Comins.  He has seven grandchildren, Katrina (Brad) Schrock, Carla (Rick) Wilson, Amber Esch, JT (Leah) Ross, Jennifer (Justin) Jackson, Luke Ross, and Clinton Ross; three great grandchildren, Emma, Sam, and Abby.
He passed away at the AuSable Valley Nursing Home where he was known for his love of singing.  He was a lifetime member of the Fairview Mennonite Church where he was involved in the Sunday School program and music among other things.
He was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings, Lily Gillis, Reuben, Esther Yoder, Ellen Troyer Schrock, Velma, Chris, Ira, and Claude.
Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 4-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.  Funeral Services at the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan, at 1 PM on August 24,2010.  Visitation at 12 PM until time of the service with Pastor Eldon Krider and Virgil Hershberger officiating.  Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Comins Township, Michigan.  Arrangements entrusted to Lashley Funeral Home.
