Eugene Leroy Rang

Eugene (Gene) Rang, age 89, of Mio, Michigan, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 3, 2021. Eugene was born in Hadley, Michigan on November 10, 1931 to John and Clara (Poillion) Range. Eugene never got the chance to know his mother. She passed away when he was two. He was raised by his aunt Elizabeth (Ella) and uncle Emil Kremkowski. Gene was the youngest of five children. He and his family moved to the Mio/Luzerne area in 1975 from Birmingham, Michigan, where he was a Master Plumber. He continued his practice in the area until he retired in 2000. Gene was active in the American Legion, where he was a charter member. He also enjoyed golf. (Anyone lucky enough to golf with him knew how well he threw his clubs). He loved to watch boxing and the Tigers. He also loved his dogs, and yes, he was very opinionated.
Eugene was also a veteran. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol (Wilson) Rang, of Mio, Michigan; son, Stanley Rang, of Mio, Michigan; and his daughter, Karen (Mark) Mayo, of Lewiston, Michigan.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara, his two brothers, Corliss and Myron (Mike) , and two sisters, Lorraine Ewton and Betty McLean
Cremation has already taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1:00 at the Luzerne Cemetery, where he will receive full Military Honors. Arrangements made by Lashley Funeral Home.
