Ethel Genette Handrich

Ethel Genette (Miller) Handrich was born in Fairview, Michigan on March 8, 1933 to John and Ella Miller. She passed away on, Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Home at AuSable Community, Fairview.
She married Vernell Handrich on September 9, 1950. They had two children, Jerry and Connie.
She was employed at the Fairview School in Fairview for 27 years. The first year was as a teacher aide and the remaining years as secretary to the Superintendent. She retired in 1992.
For 14 years, she lived 8 months of the year in Venice, Florida and 4 months in Fairview, Michigan. In 2005, she moved permanently to Fairview due to her health.
Ethel accepted Christ in her youth and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Venice, Florida. She attended Fairview Mennonite Church when able.
She is survived by her husband Vernell, a son Jerry (Diane) Handrich; daughter Connie (Merle) Mullet; seven grandchildren Jeremiah (Ashley), Craig, and Lance Handrich and Marshall (Luanne), Winston (Jody), Merrilee and Sterling Mullet.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two step-fathers Moses Mishler and Sherman Miller, and 2 sisters Irene Yoder and Esther Zook.
In accordance with Ethel's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 At 11:00 A.M. at the Fairview Mennonite Church with Pastor Jim Gerber officiating. Internment of ashes will be in the Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
