Esther L. Socia

Esther Lillian Socia, age 91, of Mio, MI passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026. She was born on November 17, 1934 in Detroit, MI to the late Mildred (Girard) and Robert Rose.

Esther loved puzzles, Skip-Bo, and Bingo. She was a T.O.P.S. member and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church since 1969. Esther was involved in the church choir for many years. She co-owned Alfie's Fine Food, worked at Glen's as a cashier, and was a grandma at Mio AuSable Schools.

Esther is survived by her children, Kathleen Morse, Cheryl (Michael) Anthony, Michele (Patrick) Hilley, Pamela (Roger Ellis) Stefani, and Cindy (Chris Mogle) Steinhurst, sister, Sandy Pillion, brothers, Duane Rose and Robert (Theresa) Rose, grandchildren, Eric (Becky) Socia, Cassandra (Ryan) Morse-Bills, Clifford Morse, Jason Socia, Ashley Danhoff, Dylan (Heidi) Stefani, and Markele Steinhurst, many great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Socia, daughter, Christine Socia, and brother, Lynn Rose.

Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mio, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM with Rev. Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. Interment will follow at Mentor Township Cemetery. Donations can be made to Our Lady of the Woods Shrine, St. Mary Church, P.O. Box 189, Mio, MI 48647.
