Erlis P. Albrecht

Erlis P. Albrecht, 77, of Fairview, MI died Thursday, November 29, 2007, at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Family and friends may visit at the Lashley Funeral Home, 318 Pearl St, Mio, MI on Sunday, Dec 2, 2007, from 2 to 8 PM and at the Fairview Mennonite Church on Monday, Dec 3, 2007.from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 AM Pastors Eldon Krider and Virgil Hershberger officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
Erlis was born October 20, 1930 in Pigeon, MI to the late Emanuel and Katie Albrecht. He married Susanna M. Troyer on August 30, 1952 in Pigeon. In 1959 the Albrecht family moved to Fairview to go into the local family business and spent the rest of their lives in the community. Erlis and Sue were married for 46 years. Erlis loved the Lord and expressed his commitment through active membership in the Fairview Mennonite Church and involvement in community service. His unwavering faith was an example for his family. His wit, quick and sure to cheer at what would seem the worst of times.
Erlis is survived by his children Diane (Terry) Rhoads of Fairview, Kathy (Tim) Neff of Grand Rapids, Steve (Ellen) Albrecht of Midland, Dawn (Kent) Shantz of Grand Rapids, nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters Norma Albrecht and Verda Albrecht of AZ, two brothers EJ Albrecht of OR and Nevin Albrecht of IN and many nieces and nephews. Erlis was preceded in death by his son Doug and wife Sue.
