Elnora "Curly" M. Stutesman

Elnora M. "Curly" Stutesman, age 105, of Manchester, Michigan, formerly of Comins, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2018.

Curly was born in Spooner, Wisconsin to William and Helen (Eichorn) Kamen on September 26, 1913. She graduated from Mio High School with the Class of 1933. Curly married Rollen Stutesman on December 2, 1939. She had many jobs in her life: waitress, housekeeping, and kitchen staff at Carrie James Hotel in Comins, Michigan; cook at Comins School; and Comins Township Treasurer; but was always a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Comins Community Church and attended First Baptist Church in Brooklyn, Michigan. She also was a Sunday School Teacher and a 4-H leader. Curly enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, fishing, and canning. She also liked poetry, jigsaw puzzles, reading, painting, crocheting, quilting and flowers.

Curly is survived by her children: Douglas (Evelyn) Stutesman of Alanson, MI; and Penny Getty of Manchester, MI; her grandchildren: Randy (Tracy) Stutesman of Buchanan, MI; Jeff (Jennifer) Stutesman of Osceola, IN; Christine (Erik) Minick of Manchester, MI; Darren (Cindy) Stutesman of Mishawauka, IN; Sharrie (Bill) Stead of Alanson, MI; and Don (Mary) Howell of Alanson; 16 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rollen; her infant daughter Jeanette Lucille; 2 brothers: Joe Kamen and Raymond Kamen; her sister Edith Jack; her grandson Brian Getty; and her son-in-law Clark Getty

Visitation on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at Comins Community Church, 4263 1st Street, W. Comins, MI 48619, with Funeral Services at 12 Noon with Pastors Kevin Salsbury and Jeffrey Sheeks officiating. Interment will follow the luncheon at 2 PM at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Michigan.

Memorial donations may be made to The Comins Community Church or The First Baptist Church, 402 Mill Street, Brooklyn, MI 49230.
