Elizabeth P. ""Polly"" Standler
Mrs. Elizabeth P. ""Polly"" Standler, age 92 a resident of Bortz Health Care of Rose City since 2002, formerly of Mio, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007. Visitation Tuesday, October 16, 2007, from 1-4 and 6-9 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 11 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Raymond Cotter officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery.
Mrs. Standler was born on May 9, 1915 in Dixon, Kentucky to Henry and Lilly (Bently) Rakestraw. She moved to the Detroit area in 1936. She retired as a clerk for AAA Insurance. She moved to Mio in 1968. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed crafting and playing Bingo.
Mrs. Standler is survived by her son William (Sue) Kane of Cleveland, Tennessee; her step-sons Norman (Florence) Standler of Grand Rapids, Ml and Leonard Standler of Hastings, Ml; her daughter-in-law Diane Kane of Mio, 22 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Standler was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert Kane, her second husband John Standler, her son Robert Kane, her sister Lorraine Stevens, her brother Henry Rakestraw, Jr., and her daughter-in-law Elaine Standler.
These arrangements were entrusted to Lashley Funeral Home of Mio, Michigan.
