Elizabeth M. Handrich, age 79, of Fairview, MI, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI.Elizabeth was born in Cornwall, VT on February 11, 1933 to Charles and Mabel (Oâ??Dell) Gero.  She moved to Mio in 1955 from Vermont.  She worked for the Rose City Nursing Home for many years as a Nurseâ??s Aide, then as a homemaker.  She also worked as a cook for The Snack Shop in Fairview, and also was a babysitter for many children in the community.  Elizabeth volunteered as a home health aide through the Oscoda County Commission on Aging, taking care of a dear friend, Katherine, in her home, many years. She enjoyed reading, collecting angels, sewing (she made comforters for all of her children), spending time with her family, and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be remembered as one of ""Elvisâ?? Greatest Fans"".Surviving are her children:  Rocklin (Ann) Handrich of LaPorte, TX; Roxanne (John) Edwards of Houston, TX; Rosealin (Dennis) Bontrager of Centerville, MI; Rollin (Debra) Handrich of Goshen, IN; Robbie Handrich of Fairview, MI; Ronda (Brad) Gusler of Mio, MI; and Rochelle (Pat) Kalbfleisch of Lewiston, MI; her brothers and sisters:  Harry, Beverly, Eddie, Ethel, Charlie, Rose, Mary Ann, Nicholas, Connie, Kathy, Patty, and Carolyn.  She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her dear friends Madonna, June, and Anna; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law Linford Troyer.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 4-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI, and again on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11 AM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI with Pastor Virgil Hershberger officiating.  Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI.Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio.
