Elizabeth "Betty" Boback

Elizabeth (Betty) Jones was born June 15th 1924 and left us for awhile to be with our Lord on May 10th 2017
Betty was born and raised in Detroit, MI. She married John Boback on August 31st 1946 in Detroit and they later made their home in Warren,MI, where they raised 4 children. Kenneth Boback (Pat), Kathleen Marie, who predeceased as a small child of 2 ½ years, Shirley Westbrook (Dana) and Mary Ott (Terry)
John and Betty spent every available time they could in Northern Michigan. They moved permanently to Luzerne in 1974 and never looked back, they both loved Luzerne and the friends they made there throughout the years.
Later John and Betty shared their time between Lakeland Florida and Luzerne
In 2013 they moved to Muskegon to be closer to family. John preceded her in death August 17th 2014. Betty lived the last 4 years at Sanctuary at the Oaks in Muskegon where she made lots of friends, was very active and continued her love of entertaining and cooking. She hosted a Karaoke sing-a-long for the facility once a month and always supplied the group with homemade treats.
Betty was a homemaker and touched so many lives with her smile and hospitality. She loved to entertain. Your plate was always full and your drink filled whether you just dropped by to visit or, she was hosting a party. She loved to cook and even more, enjoyed watching others enjoy her food cooked with love.
Betty was always on the cutting edge with new electronics. Loved her computers, iPads, and the latest phones. She was the queen of crafts. She could make anything she put her mind to.
Betty is survived by her three children; Ken, Shirley and Mary, 8 grandchildren; Kenneth Boback (Debbie);Matthew Boback (Laura); Michael Westbrook; Christopher Boback (Tracy); John Westbrook(Amber); Rhonda Westbook-Mingus(Allan); Sarah Ott and Kristen Ott. Betty was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren. A brother; 2 sisters and the Boback family that welcomed her to the family as their sister.
Betty will be missed by so many that loved her. Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2017 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 9:00pm at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI with Rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church, Mio, MI from 10:00am until the time of Christian Mass at 11:00am.
Interment at Luzerne Cemetery, Luzerne, MI. Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI
