Eldon Turrentine

Eldon D. Turrentine, age 78, of Mio, MI, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home.
Eldon was born on February 18, 1933 in Dahlgren, Illinois to Charles W. and Mary L. (Hensley) Turrentine.  He graduated from Gibson City High School in Illinois.  Eldon also served his country in the US Army.  He worked as a blast furnace operator at McLouth Steel Mill of Trenton, Michigan.  He later moved to Mio to be nearer to his daughter Cheryl.  Eldon enjoyed working on and collecting tractors.
Surviving are his daughter Cheryl (Parks) Pyle of Fairview, MI; his stepsons: Mitchel Coates and John Coates, both of East Jordan, MI; his grandson William (Erica) Walker of Tucson, AZ; and his sister Martha (Larry) Aydt of Dahlgren, IL.  Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Erma; and his son Allen Turrentine.
Visitation Wednesday, February 1, 2012, from 1-7 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, with a Funeral Service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Hedy Alcock officiating.  A private interment will take place on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Huron Valley Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI.
