Edward L. Wright

Wright, Edward L. passed away on 10/23/23 at age 89 after a 3 year long battle with cancer. No memorial will take place and he will be cremated. Those desiring may make a contribution in Ed’s memory to HAVEN in Pontiac, Michigan.

Edward was born in Mio, Michigan to the late Wilbur and Mary (Rich) Wright on 9/2/34. Edward was the third of eight children.  Edward served in the US Army during the 1950’s and spent time in Okinawa.    He liked to share stories of his time in the military. Edward was employed for 30 years at General Motors - Buick and retired in 1985. He traveled around the United States for pleasure and for skating competitions.  He enjoyed euchre in his younger days.  Ed also liked to do home improvement projects to his house in Mio after he retired.

Surviving are: daughters Sandra Wright (Shawn Murphy), Jennifer Wright, Michelle Wright, and son Michael Wright (Vida), and former spouse Teresa.  Ed also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by his first wife Alice (Canute), sons Jeff Wright and Edward D.S. Wright.
