UPDATED
Edward George “Ted” Willobee, age 96 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Bortz Heath Care of Rose City on Friday, April 25, 2014.
Ted was born in West Branch, Michigan on August 26, 1917 to Grant and Ethel (Persons) Willobee. He worked most of his life as a truck driver, and also owned and operated the Annex Store in Luzerne. He served as a deputy sheriff for Oscoda County for a while. He enjoyed playing Euchre, Detroit Tigers baseball, and horses.
Ted is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene, of Mio, MI; his children: Doug Marshall of Luzerne; Dave (Linda) Marshall of Mio; Mike (Sandi) Willobee of Mio; Sue Willobee of Florida; Sandy (Pat) Sposato of Luzerne; Mark Willobee of Mio; Jody (Barb) Willobee of Utah; and Jeff (Barb) Willobee of Luzerne; 18 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dog, Zoe, who loved him very much.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM at The Luzerne Park. Arrangements by Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, MI.
