Edward-James ""E.J."" Kevin McNamara, age 16, of Luzerne, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 3, 2007. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2007 at the Mio AuSable Schools Gymnasium from 1-9 P.M. Funeral Services will be conducted later this week at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home in Flat Rock, Michigan. Entombment will be at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, MI following the funeral service.
E.J. was born on June 5, 1990 in Dearborn, Michigan. The family moved to Luzerne in 1995 from Dearborn Heights. He was an 11th Grade student attending Mio AuSable Schools. He was a member of the Mio Band who played both the trombone and the guitar. He was a member of the 4H Kennel Club and was recently elected to President; he also worked at McDonald's in Grayling. He was scheduled to serve as a cadet at the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy in Grand Rapids, sponsored by the Michigan National Guard. E.J. enjoyed many sports, especially snowboarding, bowling, hiking, martial arts, snowmobiling, paintball and ATV riding. He also enjoyed art, sketching, drawing, painting, computers and video games and studying Asian Cultures. He will be remembered for his warm heart and kindness.
E. J. is survived by his father Kevin, his sister Nicole, his half-brother Kevin Michael McNamara of Taylor, his grandparents: James Eugene Boultinghouse of Allen Park and Sara Jean Rempe of Harrisville and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Edward & Bernice McNamara and his aunt Karen Fleming, all formerly of Lincoln Park.
In memory of E.J., memorial gifts may be made to either the Mio Band Boosters or the Mio 4H Kennel Club.
