Edward Leland Faussett

Edward L. Faussett of Mack Lake, Mio, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the Horizon Senior Living in St. Helen, MI on Sunday, February 19, 2017, where he had been a patient for the past three months.
Edward was born on June 5, 1929 in Brighton, MI, son of Edward Faussett and Anna Daniels. The preceded him in death along with 2 sisters: Vergeline Housner and Bernadetta Probst of Brighton. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane (Stein). They had just celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary on August 19th this past year. Also surviving are 5 children: Connie Platt of Canton, MI; David of Henderson, NV; Thomas of Palmer, AK: Susan Baley of Woodway, TX; and Sandra Stoops of Waxahachie, TX. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Edward was employed by American Airlines for 30 years and retired in 1989 from the corporate office in Dallas, TX. He spent his entire life traveling to Northern Michigan to go deer hunting and developed and fostered a love of nature. He passed this on to his children and grandchildren. In 1989, he and Mary Jane moved to Mio permanently to enjoy the tranquility of the great outdoors. Edward’s hobbies included hunting, wood carving, and spending time with his wife and family. He worked tirelessly to help others when needed and was always grateful for the love and support of his family and friends.
Visitation on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mio, MI, celebrated by Fr. Santiago Hoyumpa. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the Mass.
