Edna Lois Vanderwall

Mrs. Edna Lois Vanderwall, age 83, of Fairview, passed away, Saturday, May 16th, 2009 at The Home at AuSable Valley Community.
Visitation Monday 3-9 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral Services at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mio, MI, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 19th, with Pastor Michael Sheppard officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service. Interment of ashes at Luzerne Cemetery.
Edna was born on Feb. 1, 1926 in Pecatonica, IL to the late Ernest & Ida (Schulz) Schwartz. She and her husband James moved to Mio in 1961 from Lake Orion. The couple were founding members of The Oscoda County Fair, where Edna served as on the Fair Board as treasurer from 1973 - 2003. She had worked as a teller for Roscommon State Bank for 13 years and later for The District Health Department. She was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, serving as their organist from 1962 until her retirement just a few years ago.
Edna is survived by her twin sister Elinor Dailey of Freeport, Illinois, her special friends and care givers: Andrea Hagedorn and Denise Kalafut, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James V. Vanderwall on Dec. 31, 1989 and her sister Dorcas Hall.
