Edith M. Jewell

Edith May Jewell, age 85 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 18, 2014.
Edith was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 12, 1929 to Walter and Florence (Gray) Coats. She married William “Pete” Jewell on June 14, 1947; and they moved to Mio in 1976. She was a member of the Au Sable Bible Church. Edith enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, talking on the phone to her family & many friends, and attending church.
Edith is survived by her children: Pete (Cheri) Jewell of Madison Heights, MI; Kenneth (Narcy) Jewell of Comins, MI; Robbie (Doug) Shannon of McKinley, MI and Brenda (William) Arnold of Simpsonville, SC; 9 grandchildren: Tammy, Charlie, Amber, Jenny (Yong), Heather (Don), Kelly, Courtney (Eric), Kyle, and Ryan; 9 great grandchildren: Olivia, Amber, Abby, Lilly, Tyler, Zach, Kayla, Kyle, and Rylie; her sister-in-law Kathy Coats; her cousins George & Laree Massey; and her nieces and nephews: John & Louise and T.J. Jewell, and Kerry & Tom and Jake and Becka Yoder . She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William “Pete” Jewell; and her brothers: Bill Coats and Harold Coats.
Visitation Monday, September 22, 2014 from 3-8 PM at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Michigan. She will lie in state on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11AM at the Au Sable Bible Church with Pastor Ron Carter officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio, Michigan following the Funeral Service.
