Mr. Dwight Lee Handrich, age 72, of Mio, passed away Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at his residence.
Visitation Friday March 20, 2009 from 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM PM at The Lashley Funeral Home, Mio. Funeral Services 11:00 AM, Saturday March 21, 2009 at The Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan, with Pastors Eldon Krider and Virgil Hershberger officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
Dwight was born on June 4, 1936 in Fairviw to Jacob & Ruth (Yoder) Handrich
He worked as a Building Contractor and owner of AuSable Valley Builders for 47 Years. He was an active member of The Fairview Mennonite Church. He enjoyed the love and companionship of family and his many friends, hunting, fishing and his fishing trips to Canada
Dwight is survived by his wife Grace Elaine (Layman) Handrich; three sons Monte (Monica) Handrich of Goshen, IN, Wade Handrich of Holt, MI, Merritt (Carla) Handrich of Warsaw, IN; 4 Grandchildren: Sandi Handrich, Tyler Handrich and Kristy (Kenny) Westbrook and Carrie (Edwin) Wendemberg; 5 Great Grandchildren: Tyrone, Summer, Kyle Tristen and Cheyenne; three sisters, Dorothy (Oakie) Kauffman of Fairview, Shirley (Lowell) Miller of Fairview, Sharon Holberton of Fairview; two brothers: Lyle (Dianna) Handrich and Dean Handrich both of Fairview. Special friend and exchange student Axel Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Grandchildren: Kaylee and Candice Handrich and Brother in Law John Holberton.
