Douglas Melvin Marshall

February 17, 1943 — October 22, 2021

Douglas Melvin Marshall (2-17-1943 – 10-22-2021) was born to the late Melvin Marshall and Irene Griggs in St. Johns, Michigan. He leaves behind 7 siblings: David, Mike, Sue, Sandy, Mark, Jody and Jeff. Douglas moved to Luzerne, Michigan where the family owned Luzerne Annex.

Douglas married Beverly, and they had 4 children: Kevin, Julie, Melanie, and Robert. Douglas worked in the forestry industry, Foster Oil, Luzerne gas station, Northern Sporting Goods, Fred Bears, Mio Cabinets, and Cooper Standard. Douglas loved being outdoors: he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, raising beagles, gardening, bird watching, and taking pictures of the Wilderness. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family and going to the casino.

Douglas regretfully leaves behind his children: Julie (Mark), Melanie (Jim), and Robert; his siblings: David & Linda Marshall, Mark & Sandy Willobee, Sue Crampton, Mark & Rochelle Willobee, Jody & Barb Willobee, Jeff & Barb Willobee, and Sandy & Pat Sposato. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Douglas was preceded in death by his father Melvin Marshall, his mother Irene Griggs (Willobee), his father Edward “Ted” Willobee, his son Kevin D. Marshall, his grandson William Tyler Reese, and his brother-in-law Dick Crampton.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Kittle Hall (Elmer Township Hall, 863 W. Kittle Rd., Mio, MI 48647) from 1 – 4 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to the Luzerne Fire Department.
