In the morning hours of October 31, 2023, Dorothy J. Jagiello went peacefully at her home with her son Jay by her side, to join in Heaven her beloved husband Phil and all of her sisters and brothers.
Dorothy was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 24, 1929 to John and Lottie Urbanski, and went on to live in the Detroit area throughout her childhood and young adult age. She so loved her family and siblings; as she said, they were her best friends and playmates. In May of 1956, she married Philip Jagiello, and their lives took them to North Carolina where Phil was stationed in the United States Army. After Phil’s service days had been served, they moved back to the Detroit area. In December of 1962, their son Jay Philip was born. In the early fall of 1967, Dorothy and Phil moved to their permanent residence in Mio, Michigan, and Jay began school the next year at Mio AuSable School. Dorothy was a beloved wife and a devoted mother. She “learned” to love the many German Shepherds that Phil and Jay brought home throughout the years. Dorothy loved her evenings with friends at bingo and the fun and excitement they shared over the years.
Dorothy is survived by her son Jay (Linda) Jagiello, her grandchildren: Maelynn (Ryan) Watrous and Lydia (Daniel) MacIntyre, her great-grandchildren: Griffen Watrous, Lincoln MacIntyre, Jaxon MacIntyre, and Marlee McIntyre; and her nephew Mike (Melissa) Karpinski. She was preceded in death by her parents: John & Lottie Urbanski, her husband Philip, her brothers: Edmund and Leo (Gloria) Urbanski, and her sisters: Alice (Cass) Karpinski and Marion (Buddy) Douglas.
