Doris Mae Carter

Doris Mae Carter, age 77, of Mio, MI, formerly of South Lyon, passed away Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, Michigan.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, no public services are planned.
Doris was born on April 25, 1931 in Northfield Township to the late John & Leatha (Lotridge) Shelden. She lived in the South Lyon area most of her life until moving to Mio in 2004.
She had worked as an equipment aid and anesthetic technician in the anesthesiology department at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor, retiring after 32 years service. Doris was a nature lover. She enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching the birds and quilting.
Doris is survived by her two daughters: Rose (Neil) Nettles of Mio, MI and Marilyn (Terry) Runnels of Inglis, FL; 1 sister: Marie Fox of Orion, 2 sisters-in-law: Noreen and Elline Shelden; 5 Grandsons: Jason (Sylvia) Nettles, Adam Nettles, Dale (Heather) Deaton, Benjamin Deaton and Dale Watts; and 4 great grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents: 1 daughter: Carolyn Carter, 1 sister: Marion Shelden and 3 brothers: Fred, Jim and John Shelden, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
