Donna Doris Stopczynski

Donna D. Stopczynski, age 88 of Mio, Michigan, passed away at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, MI on Thursday, November 7, 2019.

Donna was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on January 12, 1931 to Harold and Elsie (Shepley) Fryer. She married Stan Stopczynski on September 3, 1955 in Windsor. The couple moved to Hamtramck, Michigan and remained in the Detroit area until retiring in 1993 to the family home in Mio, Michigan that they had owned since 1984. She worked as a homemaker, raising her children and being active in their school activities. Donna had enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as a great cook.

Donna is survived by her husband Stanley of Mio, MI; her children: Kathleen (Dale) Norgan of Brockway, MI and Michael (Valory) Stopczynski of Acworth, GA; 4 grandchildren: Charlotte, Elizabeth, Solomon, & Kira; and 2 great-grandchildren: Shalom & Alexander. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Fryer, her special niece Charlotte and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Stanley, Shirley, Howard, and Raymond.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be at a later date in Windsor, Canada.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church, P.O. Box 189, Mio, MI 48647.
