Donna B. Esch

Mrs. Donna Belle (Handrich) Esch, age 90, of Fairview, peacefully passed on to her eternal home Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at The Home at AuSable Valley Community.
Visitation Friday, January 30, 2009 from 4-8 P.M. at Lashley Funeral Home, Mio, Ml, and from 10 A.M. until the time of Funeral Service on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11 A.M. at the Fairview Mennonite Church with Pastors Eldon Krider and Cody Gascho officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Esch was born on July 11, 1918 in Oscoda County to Will and Marie (Troyer) Handrich. She married Floyd Esch on December 25, 1941. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage. Donna was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church. She cared for people in the adult foster care setting for many years. She was also well known for the beautiful quilts that she created.
Mrs. Esch is survived by her husband Floyd; her son Terry (Jodie) Esch of Cobble Hill, Vancouver Island; her daughter Rose Mary (Truman) Ross of Comins; 7 grandchildren: 3 great grandchildren; her brother Virgil (Ethel) Handrich; and her sisters: Rhoda Yordy and Paula (Eli) Stoltzfus. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John (Shirley) Handrich.
